We (Kate Brown, Sara Roberts, and yours truly) did it! We walked from the city of Vernon to Hermon. 13 miles in 6 hours, with periodic detours to walk up to the banks of the L.A. River. Here we are in Downtown L.A., just off of Santa Fe Ave, walking towards the river. We were met by a 4x4 and motorbike who had just gotten done with some joy riding. The river was surprisingly peaceful. We got to see a lot of different cityscapes and ways of life. When you see things on foot, every place, every corner, every window, every driveway, becomes present and worthy.
